Pregnancy and birth guide for claiming your birth power!

Online, UK-wide, and in person in North East Leeds and around Yorkshire.

Hi, my name is Magdalena and I’m a pregnancy guide.

If you’re a mum, a parent, or a birthing partner, searching for a comprehensive pregnancy and birth prep, you’re in the right place!

Are pregnancy and antenatal classes necessary?

Pregnancy and birth are life-changing, transformational events.

A well-designed antenatal class, or course, guides you through the start of your parenting journey. This antenatal guidance not only prepares you for a physical aspect of birth, but also boosts your chances of experiencing calm pregnancy, and gives you much better chance of a respectful and gentle birth experience for you and your baby, without unnecessary interventions. As a result, you’re entering parenthood with a set of skills that will help you navigate through it, with increased comfort, self-empowerment, and confidence when you most need it.

Birth itself is often perceived as a painful medical event and something to get over with.
I wanted to go through this big moment differently, with joy, dignity, and at the peak of my personal power.

More than anything else, I was determined to give my baby the life-long benefits of a physiological birth, and to enjoy myself in the process.
Knowing he entered the world without pain, fear, or unnecessary separation from me when he needed me most was the best “welcome to the the world” gift I could give him.

Here’s our hypnobirthing trio,
just a few weeks after the big event, enjoying a smooth transition into a new chapter of our lives.

It’s about you and for you…My take on teaching antenatal and hypnobirthing:

I say “guide”, instead of “teach” intentionally. I already know that, even as a first-time parent, you have an instinct about what is best for you and your baby, and you’re the expert on your own body-you know yourself best. My role is to guide you through the process of tapping into that power, and to signpost you and inform you about the essential elements of birth and beyond, whether they’re about physiology, managing labour pain, or emotional side of birth. I’m here to give you a set of tools for making the right choices for you. As always, in all things pregnancy and birth, you’re the decision maker.

  • I completed a hypnobirthing teacher training, accredited by the Royal College of Midwives . Additionally, I hold a certificate in Advanced Biomechanics, a course run by a UK-based midwife, Molly O’Brien, in order to facilitate optimal baby position long before labour starts, and also during birth.

  • I am a certified practitioner of 3 Step Rewind that helps to resolve birth or perinatal trauma.

  • Staying up to date with pregnancy and birth news, research, evidence-based practices, birth rights activism, and also lived experiences of families I support, comes as standard at Power in Birth®. An example of my continuous development is taking part in workshops run by a UK midwife and researcher Dr. Sara Wickham, to stay on top of the latest good quality research and studies in midwifery. I regularly read and compare news from acknowledged childbirth professionals such as Dr. Sarah J. Buckley, Dr. Michel Odent, Dr Rachel Reed or Prof. Hannah Dahlen, and many more. I take at least one refresher course per year in any areas of childbirth preparation.

  • I am crazy about birth! I am super passionate about all things birth and postnatal and that naturally translates into facilitating your learning, so that you truly feel supported and confident in your pregnancy, birth, and beyond, as much as possible.

  • Authenticity is my core value-I provide a positive and realistic information about childbirth. I offer you information that is honest, practical and evidence-based. Of course, I honour your individual needs. You can always choose what techniques, information, tools, type of birth etc. are right for you and your individual circumstances. I try to make the content of the courses fun where possible. Sometimes, I even make mooing sounds -it serves a purpose. I never put you on the spot, or ask you to do anything you’re not comfortable with. I dislike marketing tactics and never pressure you to buy a service or a product.
